• Northeast Job Corp
Structural frame with copper cladding, ridge mount style with ventilator
The approximate ninety year old copper frame skylight at a northeast Job Corp center was in desperate need of replacement. The copper frame had failed and numerous panes of glass were broken or had been replaced with plexiglass. NES designed and fabricated a replacement unit which featured a welded structural frame for added necessary support, copper cladding and historically accurate obsured wire-reinforced glass with a functional ridge mount ventilator, and copper base flashings.

  • Sunnyside Conservatory - San Francisco, CA
Copper frame, single slope style
The conservatory was originally built in the early 1900s, and over the years it had several private owners. It was awarded landmark status in 1975, and was purchased by the City in 1980 to save the building from being demolished. Know as San Francisco's other conservatory, the Sunnyside Conservatory underwent a dramatic renovation in 2009. Our coppersmiths hand crafted the eight copper frame historic single slope skylights for the new cedar shingle roof on the main conseratory building.
